Why We Use Suboxone Treatment
Addiction of illicit use of drugs has become a major problem that has impacted people of all ages, races, and backgrounds. Addiction to opioid drugs can destroy individual’s job function and relationships.
At our treatment center, we offer a wide range of confidential treatment programs and services suitably designed to fit each client’s needs, type and severity of opioid addiction, and stage of recovery. All our treatment programs boast of highly detailed and specific procedures to address the several needs of individuals addicted to opioids. Within those plans is often the inclusion of Suboxone because it has been shown to have the greatest impact in the shortest amount of time for addiction recovery.
What is Suboxone?
Suboxone could be referred to as a substance that contains a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone. These two substances work hand in hand in the sense that Buprenorphine is an opioid medication while Naloxone blocks the effects of opioid medication, including pain relief or feelings of well-being that can lead to opioid abuse. It should be noted that Suboxone does not produce the full effect of opioids when consumed but does bind to the opioid receptors in the brain, allowing for signals to be sent that opioids are in the system. The activation of the opioid receptors in the brain help to minimize withdrawal symptoms like nausea, diarrhea, chills, sweats, and abdominal pain, as well as lessen the intensity of cravings.
At K.A.C., we offer Suboxone maintenance in our treatment center as well as a part of our aftercare plan. Our team is here 24/7 to answer any questions you may have and to find the best treatment plan for you or your loved one.
